Back Home After Some Time Visiting.

Hey, it’s good to be back home again. Sometimes this old farm feels like a long lost friend. Yes, and hey, it’s good to be back home again.~John Denver

Back to the palm trees and sand…

Doug and I are back home in Florida after visiting family for a few days in Georgia.

Many people have the idea that Florida is unbearably hot… that’s because they’ve probably never been to central Georgia!

While the temperature on the thermometer may be similar, we get a steady breeze from the ocean here, and from all of the surrounding bodies of water.

Georgia is very still… It feels like a wet wool blanket draped over your head…

And the ground is red clay which gets everywhere! Sure, we live on a sandridge in Florida and it gets everywhere too, but it doesn’t stick to and stain everything in creation…

I didn’t get to update my blog while away as I hoped. We were busy doing physical world stuff like eating and more eating. I definitely strayed from my usual, moderate eating habits, and left my exercise regimen in Florida.

I’m back on track starting this morning though… A two mile hike in the preserve next to our property  first thing in the morning was a welcome way to slide back in to real life.

I’m looking forward to finishing up the Connect With Your True Self series and maybe beginning another, not yet fully thought out series.

I hope everyone got through last week OK without a daily dose of Doug…

  4. There’s no place like home. I was a big John Denver fan in the 70’s. Thanks for the memories.

    1. I still like John Denver.

  5. Missed you, but I got a vicarious thrill out of your saying you have been eating a lot and not exercising. Such luxury. Also glad you found some good places to see in Macon! Yes, a wet wool blanket!!!! 🙂 And Floridy is lovely even in the summer, I agree.

    1. We had fun but I was happy to get home. I don’t think I could survive a summer in central Georgia!

  6. Looks like Doug was playing in that red dirt 🙂

    1. He was… He always does the opposite of what I want him to do.
