Don’t look backwards – You aren’t going there…
Love Eckhart Tolle! Thanks for sharing.
I love blogging and its cheap therapy to me so i’ll never stop complaining here, but to others or in my personal life outside of here, i agree with this totally 🙂
It’s good to vent sometimes too…
For me to complain is for me to be the aforementioned victim. I have the power to affect change in my life and the grace to accept those things I cannot and have no right to change.
It has taken me a long time to reach this place in my life and can be a struggle to maintain but the effort pays dividends in personal satisfaction.
It does Glenn. I understand what you’re talking about… It’s taken me a long time to reach this point in life as well. The journey isn’t over though, but at least I can stand on higher ground and see a path… Before I was blindly stumbling through the woods.
You know I think if you can bring forth a complaint that you could otherwise not fix yourself then that can be the catalyst to making the change you wish to create. The trick to “complaining” is to phrase it in a way that doesn’t put your audience at dis-ease. Make requests and elaborate on your motivations. Which might stretch the definition of the word. But sometimes the origin of these requests might start off as a complaint in your mind and if you are adept at putting the thinking between the stimulus and response you can plan out how to voice your complaint in a non offensive way.
Good advice. Thanks for sharing. You bring up some valid points that go beyond just complaining. Your ideas involve action, which is good. Complaining with no effort made to change the situation is a waste of time.
Such life changing words!

Stop complaining already!
“Complaining is one of the ego’s favorite strategies for strengthening itself.” Eckhart Tolle
“The Ego loves resentment, it loves to resent everything and is never happy.” E. T.
Great quotes. Eckhart Tolle certainly sees things as the truly are.
Victim mentality is a CHOICE! we were given CHOICE. Those who sit in victim mentality wallow in it and they love it. I do not “enable” anyone who sits in victim mentality. I guide others and if they sit in victim mentality i tell them I cannot do anything for them. This is CHOICE. Simple!
Exactly Julie- It’s all about how we choose to see a situation and how we let it influence us.
