A happy family is but an earlier heaven. ~George Bernard Shaw
We’re hosting Christmas Eve at our house this year… Most of our family lives within an hour of us, and about 15-20 of them will be arriving this afternoon.
We’re doing some last minute tidying up, preparing the food and generally running around in circles. Christmas Eve was always an important part of the holiday season for us.
Gifts from Santa are opened on Christmas morning, but gifts from siblings, cousins, nieces etc. are opened on Christmas Eve.
My Mother established this tradition before I was even thought of and, although she’s passed on, we continue to honor it.
I need to get back out there and make sure everything is getting done.
I left Doug in charge of tidying up my nutcracker collection… He took this task literally though, and tried to mount an actual charge upon the present pile…
Sometimes I wonder about that monkey…
Happy Christmas Eve!
